August Favorites

Sunday 31 August 2014

It's the end of August which means summer is kinda over too. On the plus side fall is approaching and its my favorite season, result.

All products in this months post are pretty much new products I haven't talked about plus I'm going to include a hyped up makeup product that let me down just so you guys don't make the same mistake too!

Revlon Colorstay Concealer
I love the Revlon Colorstay foundation so I had to give the concealer a try. It didn't disappoint. If you dislike the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer you'll love this concealer, it's a much thinner consistency. It resembles the Nars Creamy Concealer a lot. Doesn't cake up when you use under the eyes it immediately brightens. You can also use on blemishes, it's a very dual purpose concealer which is great!
£6.99 in stores

Nars Turkish Delight Lipgloss
I'm pretty sure I have spoke about this lipgloss in a previous post but since this is a favorites post and I have been religiously using this all month I have to give it a little mention. I sometimes use it on top of Mac's lipstick in Angel, It's the perfect combo! This lipgloss is perfect because it's not sticky or thick and it gives a great color and shine to the lips.
£18.50 at your nearest NARS Counter

Max factor Clump Defy Mascara
I used to use this mascara a few months back but didn't like it, I recently picked up a new one to give the mascara another chance, I mean we all deserve a second chance right ?! Once I tried it my opinion changed immediately, it was like a complete different mascara! I don't know if the formula has changed or something but it now makes my lashes look really full and long whereas before it did nothing for my lashes. I've used no other mascara this month.
£10.99 in Boots

Sleek Blush By 3 Palette in Sugar
I don't use blush every day but when I have this month I've been reaching for this. I love the deep shades in this palette, its the perfect autumnal palette. A really nice range of matte and shimmer blushes. Priced at £10 I find this to be a really affordable palette.

Inglot Eyeshadows Freedom System Shadows in 31 and 446
I have a post all about my love for the Inglot eye shadows but I have been using a few on the regular. Two in particular I have been reaching for. The colors look really great together blended on the lid. I think because they are so easy to blend and look beautiful on is why I've been reaching for them. A quick no hassle way to make your eyes pop!
£4.50 each shade

446 & 31

Now for the super huge let down ..

Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick
I hate to say this but the Bobbi Brown Re-Formulated Foundation Stick is a major let down for me, it actually upsets me cause I had such high hopes for it! I know how sad that sounds but it's the truth *sad face*
When you first apply this it looks nice, I'm not going to lie it gives a decent enough coverage. But after roughly 10 minutes my skin looks oily & I'm talking really oily. It seems like this foundation makes my face oilier than it actually is.. strange. Even if I use a setting spray, powder AND primer it gets oily?! If anybody knows what I could do please do let me know. Huge thumbs down unfortunately
