Intense Black Eyeshadow - Night Out Makeup

Thursday 22 May 2014

Today I thought i'd go through how to do a very sultry all black eye look as I know people tend to find this quite hard, doing these simple steps it's going to make it a whole lot easier.

Doing any eye look with just black eye shadow is hard as black is difficult to blend on it's own without it going patchy, in fact you can't unless you're a miracle worker! It's all about layering, build the color up gradually, it will take time but you will get there.

  • Prime your eyelids first of all, then get a light brown and apply it all over the lid and extend it out in a winged liner type of way and apply it on the lower lash line. Keep going darker and darker until you're on a really dark brown.
  • Then all you basically do is go over all of that with a black shade, you may need to pack on a lot of color if you want a really intense black. Doing it this way is going to make the eye shadow be all black instead of a patchy grey color.
  • To soften it out a little use the darkest brown you used and blend it with a fluffy brush, this will smoke it out ever so slightly.
  • Then apply a bone color shadow on your brow bone and on the inner corner
  • Finish up with mascara and you are complete!

This look does take some time to perfect but with practice you will achieve it in no time
Here's some close ups on the finished eye look

I love this eye look, it makes any eye color pop and it makes your  eyes appear very almond shaped (which i'm all for!!!)
Hope you enjoyed reading.
Would you go for a really bold all black eye shadow look?
Let me know in the comments.
